Dream Thief 4 LP [Horizons]

Horizons gear up to launch the 4th in their varied Dream Thief LP series, featuring a selection of cuts from the extended label family crossing the styles of drum & bass. Highlights include Amoss’ excellent MC led stepper Bleed It, DLR’s melodic yet techy Trading Places and the percussive intricacies of The Shield from Gremlinz & Rumbleton.

Elsewhere on Detail delivers possibly the most innovative track in the collection with his sublimely creepy Human Trust; glitchy percussion, deft sub throbs and some fantastic atmospherics combine to create a brilliant slice of leftfield 170. Finally for those who like a bit of deep liquid there are some nicely polished cuts from Eveson, Naibu and Nitri.

Vinyl lovers will find the LP available as a 4 track sampler and a further 8 track LP collection, while the digital buyers amongst you will be able to grab the files from all the usual sources. Nickbee steps up to provide a special edition of the regular NeurofunkGrid Talents mix series, serving up just shy of an hour’s worth of beats including tunes from Noisia, The Upbeats, Phace and Mayhem. The mix is packed full of dubs too, so expect the unexpected, and expect it dark and heavy.

Sunchase & Nickbee bring the fire for the third release on their 22:22 imprint! First up Teddy Killerz & Malk are let loose on Moving Shadow classic As We Look for a belting new remix which amps things up a bit while retaining the spirit of the original. Over on the flip the pair deliver a nicely off-kilter grimey stepper in the form of Proper Things which moves seamlessly between full and half-step beats.

As a celebration of the release 22:22 have kindly given away their Proper Harder Things refix of the B side which delivers exactly what you’d expect from the title; beats and bass have both been beefed up to the max to deliver a total smasher!
