Trex drops his debut album via Mac 2 Recordings tomorrow, and we’re hyped to bring you an exclusive from the record! Featuring Ella Jones on vocals, Dreamy Dayz is a bubbly roller with enough heft to keep a floor moving while still retaining that soulful vibe. Summer rollers for winter days! You can grab this on the album sampler right now; the full LP drops Dec 4th.
Hyperactive rave shenanigans on today’s premiere – hoovers, stabs, euphoric piano and breakbeats a plenty on this one! Chu Hi sees Calculon and Lil Kevo 303 teaming up for a maximum energy dancefloor destruction, teleporting the sounds of 90s rave into 2020 with a massive bang! Look for this via The Dreamers from Dec 7th exclusively on Beatport.
Australia’s Luke Sentric brings the vibes on today’s premiere, dropping a slab of bassy halftime swagger for Samsara Beats! Hit up Bandcamp to cop this one right now.
Liquid fans should definitely recognise the name on this guest mix! Emerging as one of the brightest talents in rolling, melody-focused production, Henry’s work has seen release on Celsius, Fokuz, Bay 6, Default and Glitch Audio over the last few years. His mix delivers exactly what you’d expect; deep, emotional D&B selections featuring the likes of Leniz, Askel, Echo Motion and Alix Perez. Beautiful stuff!
Scotland’s Midnight Bass crew make the jump from club night to label next month and we’re hyped to have an exclusive from their debut release which showcases producers across the Scottish scene. Today’s premiere comes from Refracta, who serves up a hypnotic dancefloor roller with a proper earworm of a lead melody. Look for the album coming 9th December on Bandcamp!
Deliciously deep liquid goodness on today’s exclusive, as Goldfat welcome Kublai to their fold! Delicate piano and strings and a classy rolling break give life to an emotive composition…beautiful work. This one drops Nov 27th at all the usual outlets.
Xenon lands back in our premiere spotlight with a driving slice of techstep goodness. Eerie bleeps and acid tinges characterise a track with an exemplary dark groove, harking back to the classic era of dark rollers on labels like Offkey and Citrus. Wicked tune! Look for this coming Nov 27th via Humanoid Berlin!
Rua Sound land with their tenth release this month and it comes from mystery artist San – described by the press release as “the jungle alias of a Bristol based techno producer”. Not sure if this will become the next Dawn Wall style D&B whodunnit, but in the meantime we have a pinch of intrigue, and a cracking new EP!
Subject 9 is certainly channelling classic jungle and drumfunk influences, but with a modern level of complexity that certainly doesn’t feel retro. Think of the atmospherics of Andy Skopes, the breakbeat intricacy of dgoHn and a pinch of Source Direct and you’re halfway there…eerie breakbeat jazz with hordes of character. We’ll let the music do the rest of the talking on this one; check out the clips below and hit up the Rua Bandcamp to grab the EP on vinyl or digital right now!
After a break from the scene, Manchester-based producer Colossus is back and firing on all cylinders! Read on for the lowdown on his break and return, track names and upcoming projects…
