Samurai Breaks and Fragmented boss Dyrekt land on the latter’s label this month with a four track EP of dutty halftime goodness. To celebrate, we tracked them down and asked them for their Top 5 halftime cuts…check it out.
The Fragmented Recordings crew are kicking off 2018 with a bang as they present the third volume of their Fragments VA EP series, and we’re hyped to present the exclusive premiere of Cynical Gene – Resurgence. Featuring rave stabs and a super catchy rapid fire lead, this one is harnessing the spirit of classic 2000s neurofunk for a punchy roller more than capable of smashing up the dance. Yes yes! Watch out for the EP dropping Jan 12th at Beatport and Bandcamp with all other outlets following two weeks later.
Fragmented are back with more dancefloor destruction this month and we’ve got the exclusive on Freqax & Kaiza’s fantastically wonky Electrik. Built on a backbone of punchy neuro bass and hard hitting kicks and snares, the tune’s character really comes from the twisted vocal cut ups and helter skelter percussion and FX hits; different elements are constantly pouncing in and out of the mix and the result is just beautifully chaotic. Look for this alongside three other weapons from Freqax and friends dropping Nov 17th.
Fragmented have rapidly secured a place as one of our favourite labels here at Dojo HQ through their varied A&R, attention to detail and knack for signing forward-thinking beats from promising new producers. With their eighth release just around the corner, we grabbed label boss Dyrekt for a chat, plus we’ve got the premiere of brand new track Corrugation from Screamarts forthcoming EP The Void…
Our latest exclusive guest mix comes from Austrian neurofunk producer Manta. With releases for Fragmented, Culture Assault and Moshbit and club appearances alongside June Miller, Emperor, Agressor Bunx, L33 and many more, Manta certainly knows how to rock a crowd and this 40 minute mix of neuro rollers more than proves that! Beats inside from Mefjus, Hazard, Current Value, Neonlight and many more, kicked off with a fistful of Manta dubs.
Tsunami Bass Weight boss and all around badman Samurai Breaks steps up on our latest premiere as he drops a hefty two-tracker for Fragmented Recordings. Punchy halftime riddims and some serious low end on this one; not hard to see why Sam has been getting support on the mighty Noisia Radio! Check it out and watch for the release dropping September 7th via all good digital stores.
Today’s premiere comes from our pals at Fragmented, easing their foot off the gas a little for the B side on their latest release from Akomplis & Objectiv. Tight breaks, soft pads and a haunting vocal make for a lush slice of deep, understated liquid. Look for this one dropping August 11th.
We’re back with another exclusive premiere and this time it’s Austrian producer Manta in the Dojo spotlight. Dropping onto Yorkshire’s Fragmented Recordings on June 2nd, Flashback combines rolling breaks, morphing neuro basslines and a keen ear for melody with sparkling leads and bright piano. Putting the funk back into neurofunk!
