Quentin Hiatus’s FLD imprint continue their relentless schedule of forward-thinking future music with a fresh new album from French duo Kantyze. The Mutation LP features some serious riddims so naturally we jumped at the chance to share the premiere of one of them, and The Blastmaster is one frenetic riddim indeed. Rapid-fire breakbeats set to a lilting, swung bassline and punctuated by raved-up synth melodies and staccato vocal hits make for a relentlessly energetic track; sick vibes! After the success of his much lauded Loving Touch EP Fracture returns to Exit with another top selection of raved up riddims which showcase his knack for melding dancefloor chops with intriguing stylistic experiments and varied the results are too.
Makin’ Hype Tracks kicks things off with another ravey smasher in the vein of Fracture’s excellent remix of DJ Monita’s Luv Ta Luv Ya, blending footwork influences with crisp jungle breaks and a tint of the old school. This one will absolutely be doing the damage in the clubs! Black Pearl immediately flips the script, keeping the crunchy jungle-style breaks but setting them to a more liquid-y set of pads and vocal cuts for a blend of the frantic and the serene.
The appropriately titled Acid Claps sees Teklife footwork originators Taso & Spinn on board for a track that lives up to it’s name with squelchy acid lines and tons of 808 clap action. Wonky business! Last up, I Just brings things full circle with another blend of breakneck syncopations and bassweight.

US duo Brandon Miles & Tricky Pat bring their experimental stylings to Faded Music with a four track EP of genre-bending 85/170BPM business. Hints of IDM, hip-hop, jungle, juke and a general taste for all things ravey have been chucked into the sonic blender and the results are chaotic, unpredictable and generally really good fun.

Dexta returns to None60 with two cracking new beats. Minirave lives up to it’s name, harnessing the sounds of old school hardcore and jungle for a chopped up raved out banger.
The Bunker sees Dexta teaming up with Gaunt for another track with more than a nod to the old school. Shadow Boxing-style basslines and junglist break chops meld with Dexta’s signature production for a nice groove, and a perfect complement to the more up front A side.

Acid Trip leads with classic rave synths on the intro before pounding bass stabs slam down around the heavy hitting half-time rhythm. Get Rowdy meanwhile lulls you into a false sense of security with lush IDM-esque sounds before the frenetic percussion and chipmunk-pitched vocal refrain drop in to hype the track up. Cracking!
