Premiere: Seibel – To The Moon

The latest from one of our favourite labels here at Dojo HQ takes things in a slightly different direction compared to their usual fare as Addictive get in on the summer feeling with a lush melodic roller from Seibel. The German producer layers majestic synths over rolling beats for a spacey, uplifting tune with enough punch for the dancefloor and enough thought for the living room. Vibes for days. Look for this dropping Jul 16th exclusively at Beatport with all other stores following two weeks later…

Premiere: Sicknote & Sweetpea – Saxxon

London heads Sweetpea and Sicknote team up in the studio for our latest exclusive, laying down a tech-edged drumfunk riddim with tons of atmosphere and seriously tight percussive chops. Sick track! Look for this one coming on Addictive Behaviour’s brand new Rotation Part Three LP; the album drops at Beatport on Monday with full release coming two weeks after.

Premiere: Invadhertz – Battle Lines (feat. MC Gusto)

Addictive Behaviour keep the releases flowing with a new EP from Italian production duo Invadhertz. Battle Lines sees them recruiting MC Gusto (who you should recognise from his work with DLR over the years) for vocal duties, storming the flow in typical style with an anti-capitalist and anti-war sentiment set to a dark and militant techstep beat. Sick one! Look for this coming to Beatport from 19th March with all other stores following two weeks later.

Premiere: Mystic State vs Third Degree – Under The Shadow VIP

Mystic State drop a cracking collab album on Addictive Behaviour later this month and we’re incredibly pleased to bring you a premiere from the Versus LP! Previous Third Degree collab Under The Shadow gets the VIP treatment, with the original’s stepping drums swapped out for a swaggering halftime groove that still fits perfectly with the memorable bassline riffage of the original. Sick! Look out for this alongside new beats made alongside Philth, Xanadu, Data 3 and many more…trust us, this one is dangerous. The album drops Dec 18th at the usual digital outlets.

Premiere: Black Opps – MicroKosm

Time for another exclusive today from up and coming Brazilian artist Black Opps who lands on London label Addictive Behaviour with a sick new EP this week! Title track MicroKosm dials the atmosphere up to 11, keep the beats sparse and the composition minimal for a rhythmic head nodder that gets under your skin. Check it out below and hit up Beatport to grab a copy right now…

Premiere: Sam Binary – March of the Mutants

We’re exceptionally pleased to bring an exclusive today from one of our favourite labels as we present a fresh cut from the Addictive Behaviour camp! Sam Binary joins the label roster on their new Transitions EP with the teched out break chopping of March of the Mutants. Menacing drum work, deep sub and a decidedly ominous tone characterise a tune that’s clearly influenced by classic beats from the likes of Dom & Roland and Tech Itch. One for the dark heads…look for this alongside new beats from Mystic State & Third Degree, Trojan Sound and Wingz when the EP drops July 24th on Beatport.

Q&A – Addictive Behaviour

Addictive Behaviour have had quite the year, building on past successes with new releases from Eastcolors, Minor Rain and Handra, following the label’s solid formula of a slow but high quality release schedule. Their latest project, out a few weeks ago, sees them return to the Rotation LP series started in 2015 with 14 big new tracks from the likes of Philth, NickBee, Data 3, Detail, Fade and more. To find out a bit more about the album and what’s next for the label we grabbed bosses Clayton and Neil for a chat…

Handra – Forget EP [Addictive Behaviour]

Regular readers are probably already aware that we’re big fans of Addictive Behaviour; pretty much every release from the burgeoning London label has been a treat, and that tradition looks set to continue for some time based on their latest offering.

The Forget EP sees Polish duo Handra follow up the success of their previous releases for the label with two new tracks following their usual deep-leaning style. Forget kicks things off with another beautiful Tiiu-voxed roller, bringing together tough bass with soft piano and the Russian singer’s delightfully delicate strains. We’re suckers for a melancholy number here at Dojo HQ and this is up there with the best of them.

Arcane sees the energy levels rising as Mystic State join Handra in the studio for a gritty, vibe-full roller; simple but effective business as big splashy snares punctuate the growling bass under a layer of echoed rap vocals. Finally Ed:it rounds things off with a chunky remix of Far Away, swapping the deep halftime flex of the original with quirky but rolling drums and a more stripped back sound.

Once again the Addictive family are on top form! Check out the clips below and look for this on vinyl and digital right now…and if you can’t get enough Handra, go listen to their Showcase Mix for D&B Arena.

Minor Rain – The Resistance EP [Addictive Behaviour]

When it comes to neurofunk, Addictive Behaviour are one of our favourite labels. Between their commitment to quality vinyl releases and their talent for signing tracks that balance dancefloor chops with musicality (and avoid tearout cliche), they’re pretty much setting the bar for independent dancefloor D&B, and frankly they’re putting some of the bigger labels to shame.

Their latest effort from Minor Rain continues that fine tradition with three new cuts from Slovakia’s finest. Lead track Resistance keeps things gritty with tons of crunchy bass texture and hefty drum hits to provide a refined and detailed take on the traditional dark roller, and tasty stuff it is too.

Elsewhere on the EP Going Crazy combines some pretty “pew pew” synth lazer action with a robotic riddim and a cheeky vocal hook for the EP’s most light-hearted track. Last up, Hydra smashes the riddims up into a gloriously chaotic ensemble of beats and bass that swerves from rolling and rhythmic to angular and gnarly at will. Wicked stuff! Check out the clips below and hit up the usual stores to grab a copy on red vinyl or digital right now.
